Russian forces continue their attacks on the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. As the Ukrainian military announced in the morning, there were 59 attacks on the city by heavy missile systems in the previous 24 hours. 20 other settlements in the area were also attacked. The information could not be independently verified.
For weeks, Russian troops have focused mainly on the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Kyiv still waiting for jet fighters
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has expressed confidence that his country will receive fighter jets to avoid a Russian invasion in the future – although there are no international commitments yet.
“We are constantly working on building an air coalition or an aircraft coalition,” Kuleba said in an interview with Ukraine’s Ukrinform news agency published today. “There is no country that says yes, but there is also no country that says no. It’s a completely open option,” said Kuleba.
