New drone attacks on Russian territory

In the Russian border city of Bryansk, an electronics factory and a railway station were again targeted by drone attacks on Friday afternoon. According to Governor Alexander Bogomas, Russian air defense intercepted at least three drones over or approaching the city. Two of the aircraft reportedly damaged the railway station and an industrial administration building when they crashed. The governor blamed Ukraine for the attack.

According to Bogomas, no one was injured. According to authorities and Russian media reports, Bryansk had already been attacked with drones on Thursday, including the railway station. The governor also spoke this Thursday about an attack on an “administrative building of an industrial plant” where a fire broke out. According to Ukrainian media reports, the industrial plant is a factory of one of the largest Russian microelectronics manufacturers. About 90% of the company’s production will be used for military purposes, he said. The factory was also reportedly the target of drone attacks in late August.

Russia has been waging a war of aggression against its neighboring country, Ukraine, for over a year and a half. As a result, repeated bombings occur on Russian territory, often in the border region. However, the number of casualties and damage are disproportionate to the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
