New humanitarian aid convoy sent to Gaza from Jordan News

The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (Jhco), in collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces, today sent a convoy of 24 trucks carrying 427 tons of food aid to the Gaza Strip.

The Jordanian agency Petra writes it. The convoy carried packages of food and flour donated by Human Appeal, Al-Imdaad Foundation, South Africa, Tkiyet Um Ali and the World Food Program (WFP).

The convoy crossed the King Hussein Bridge towards Gaza this afternoon while the Royal Jordanian Air Force dropped relief supplies into the Gaza Strip, we read in a statement by the humanitarian organization's Secretary General Hussein Al-Shibli.

“The convoy is part of Jordan’s efforts to support our people in Gaza given the current circumstances. It has been prepared with food and relief supplies for distribution to citizens,” he said.

Al-Shibli said his organization would continue to accept donations and coordinate to provide aid by land and air to “stand by our people in the Gaza Strip.”
