New lawsuit against Depardieu for alleged sexual assault in 2021

A decorator filed a complaint on Friday for alleged sexual assault on a set in 2021 against Gérard Depardieu, who has already been charged with allegations of sexual violence, lawyer Carine Durrieu-Diebolt told AFP on Sunday.

The latter, which already defends the actress Charlotte Arnould, alleged victim of a rape that led to the indictment of Gérard Depardieu in December 2020, confirmed by email on Saturday the information provided by Mediapart, according to which she had sent the Paris prosecutor's office by registered letter on Friday this new report of sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexist crimes.

When asked, the Paris prosecutor's office could not confirm the filing of the lawsuit and Mr. Depardieu's lawyer did not immediately comment on all the facts reported by the investigative body.

“I have never abused a woman,” Gérard Depardieu said in an open letter published in Le Figaro on October 1.

According to Me Durrieu-Diebolt, the facts date back to 2021 and are not time-barred. They would have appeared in Paris during the filming of the film “Les Shutters Vertes” directed by Jean Becker.

The woman who denounced these facts was called Amélie and was 53 years old. She was a production designer on set.

According to his report to Mediapart, the Cyrano de Bergerac actor is said to have made numerous sharp-tongued remarks during filming in Paris on September 10, 2021, later “grabbing her with brutality” and “her waist, her stomach, goes up to her breasts.

The reported attack was reportedly interrupted by the actor's bodyguards.

According to Mediapart, another woman, Sarah, 33 years old and third assistant director on the same shoot, accuses Mr. Depardieu of touching her “breast and buttocks” twice on August 31, 2021, while still in Paris.

The investigative site also claims that actress Anouk Grinberg, who denounced Mr. Depardieu's behavior toward women in the press, filed a defamation lawsuit in December against Me Béatrice Achille Geissmann, Mr. Depardieu's lawyer at Me Christian Saint-Palais, over comments he made have France 5. Ms. Grinberg could not be reached by AFP.

In addition to his indictment over alleged facts dating back to August 2018, Mr Depardieu is the subject of a preliminary investigation in Paris, revealed by the Courrier de l'Ouest, over sexual assaults in 2014, reported by a then 24-year-old assistant during filming .

Another complaint of sexual assault by actress Hélène Darras based on facts from 2007 was filed at the end of December for the statute of limitations.

In addition, in Spain, the journalist and writer Ruth Baza filed a complaint with the Spanish police in mid-December about an alleged rape in Paris in October 1995.
