Jethro was born in Melbourne in 1991 to Nick and his mother Beau Lazenby, but didn’t discover that Nick Cave was his father until he was eight years old. Ten days after Jethro’s birth, Nick’s second child, Luke, was born to his first wife, Viviane Carneiro.
“It was a difficult time, but in the end it was fantastic. To my eternal regret, I didn’t have much contact with Jethro in the early years, but now I have a great relationship with him,” Cave said after his summary of seeing the son.
The boy was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Earlier this year he was arrested in Melbourne for assaulting his mother, Beau, and last week he was released on bail from the Melbourne Remand Center with orders to undergo treatment for substance abuse and to have had no contact with his mother for two years long to avoid.

In 2018, the young model had already been convicted of assaulting his then girlfriend.
Cave has two other children, Luke, 30, from his first marriage to Viviane Carneiro, and Earl, 21, from his marriage to Susie Bick.
