New video shows panic on a boat in the Bahamas just after star baseball player jumps off a wagon

Haunting new video has emerged showing the panic and chaos aboard the boat in the Bahamas shortly after an 18-year-old star Louisiana high school baseball player jumped from the ship after implementing a challenge that turned deadly ended.

The footage shows Cameron Robbins splashing around in the open sea with no life jacket and only his swim trunks while many of his classmates are in shock while others are screaming in hysterics.

“That damn boy jumped off!” said one person.

Another said: “Oh my goddamn god.” Oh shut up. Oh, bye… bye… Oh… shit!’

“Grab the buoy…grab the buoy,” others shouted, hoping he would hear them.

But the video shows Robbins, who was just meters away from the boat, suddenly drifting the other way and away from the buoy before disappearing into the darkness, witnesses said.

The US Coast Guard and several authorities searched for days in the sea for the missing young man. Late Friday, the US Coast Guard officially called off the search, officials said.

Robbins had just graduated from the University Laboratory School at Baton Rogue a few days earlier and celebrated his graduation by jumping. The video shows the hysteria on board the boat. One person yelled,

According to the WAFB, witnesses claimed he was a dare when he jumped overboard from the sunset cruise ship Blackbeard’s Revenge at 11:30 p.m.

The ship was near Athol Island, an uninhabited island northeast of Nassau, when Robbins jumped into the sea.

Robbins had graduated from University High in Baton Rouge just days earlier and was seen in his robes and with a big smile in an Instagram photo taken days before he disappeared.

The star athlete celebrated his recent high school graduation with dozens of other graduates from other Baton Rogue high schools, including U-High, Episcopal, Catholic and St. Joseph’s Academy, a parent told the news outlet.

The students arrived on the island just hours before the pirate-themed sunset cruise and stayed at Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, the parents said.

After Robbins jumped, the boat and its crew members, along with several authorities, attempted to locate him, including the US Coast Guard.

The US Coast Guard 7th District deployed several search and rescue forces in response to support from its partners in the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.

They planned and searched a 325 square mile search for the young man.
