New York Rangers Owner Accused of Sexual Assault

Big news in the NHL and the world of sports.

According to the amNewYork network, New York Rangers and Knicks owner James Dolan is accused of sexually assaulting a masseuse. There is also a traffic complaint.

Kellye Croft (the masseuse) claims Dolan pressured her into having “unwanted sex” and arranging a meeting with producer Harvey Weinstein.

The masseuse therefore accuses Dolan and Weinstein of sexual assault and forced touching…

And because Dolan facilitated the transport of Kellye Croft to California “for violent sexual purposes,” according to the Rangers owner Also was accused of sex trafficking.

Note that the events took place in 2013.

I suffered so much from what James Dolan and Harvey Weinstein did to me years ago, and it was not an easy decision to come forward and demand justice [...] James Dolan manipulated me, took me to California to abuse me, and then prepared me for a violent attack by Weinstein. –Kellye Croft

Kellye Croft also claims that the Rangers owner was very aware of Harvey Weinstein's history of sexual assault and abuse. Note that the latter is currently serving a 39-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and sexual assault in recent years.

Representatives at Madison Square Garden, home of the Rangers and Knicks, declined to comment on the matter at this time.

It will be interesting to see what happens next in this story. I'm particularly curious to see whether the NHL will get involved…

But all in all, this is more bad news for the image of the league, which has had to deal with the Blackhawks' situation in recent years.

It is sad.
