Liverpool ended their win of the season against Newcastle United by giving the 10-man Magpies only their second defeat of the Premier League season with a 2-0 win at St James’ Park.
Newcastle were in control in the early stages but it collapsed so quickly when goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo were followed by a ridiculous handball from Nick Pope outside the box that condemned the Magpies to 10 men at home for 68 minutes.
