A newly married man has died after opening a home theater in India which he received as a wedding present.
What happened:
Inside the gift sent by the victim’s wife’s exboyfriend to the Indian state of Chhattisgarh was a homemade bomb.
The explosives were detonated as soon as the home theater was powered. last Monday (3).
The victim’s brother also died in the explosion.
Next to the groom Hemendra Meravi, and his brother, four other people including a fourmonthold baby were injured.
The explosion was so powerful that the walls and ceiling of the room collapsed from the impact.
Sarju Markam, 33, exboyfriend of Latita, 29, was reportedly furious that she had married another man. The suspect was arrested yesterday.
Sarju wanted Latita to be his second wife, which was opposed by the family of the woman who arranged the marriage to Hemendra. Before the wedding, the suspect fell out with his ex and her thenfiancé.
The suspect was brought in for questioning and confessed to the crime. Sarju has two children and has previous experience in mining and explosives, so he could have assembled the artifact.
Local media did not say if the victim’s wife was among those injured or if she was at the home during the blast.
