The General Secretary of the Legislature, Álvaro Salazar, transmitted to the President a resolution of the plenary session of the National Assembly (Parliament) authorizing the impeachment proceedings against him.

The allegation against Lasso is related to the agreement signed with the Amazonas Tanker Pool association, which includes the public company Flota Petrolera Ecuatoriana (Flopec).
According to Parliament’s resolution, the diversion or diversion of funds generated annually by these corporate pools, with which Flopec had a contractual relationship to transport crude oil, is evident.
