In the second quarter, the 22-year-old knocked down center Nick Foles in a 38-10 win. He lay on the ground, writhing in pain. Right next to him, Thibodeaux mimed making an angel in the snow.
The Colts quarterback did not return to the game after that, and his team announced that he was suffering from a rib injury.
“It was a tasteless celebration. It was gross,” Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday said during his press conference Monday.
The pilot was also angry at his offensive linemen for failing to defend Foles.
“It’s disappointing [la ligne à l’attaque] and his teammates in general,” said Saturday. We’ll discuss it.”
For his part, Thibodeaux said he didn’t know Foles was injured.
“After a sack you celebrate,” he said on Sunday. When I realized he was hurt, I wanted to get up. When you’re partying, you don’t pay attention to what other people are doing or not doing. I hope he’s getting better and doing well.”
Thibodeaux and the Giants (9-6-1) also qualified for the playoffs against the Colts (4-11-1). The New York formation ends its regular season next Sunday with a visit to the Eagles in Philadelphia.
The Indianapolis club, for its part, will play its last game of the season against the Houston Texans.
