NFL Draft 2022 Giants pick rare talent Jets fall into

NFL Draft 2022: Giants pick ‘rare talent’; Jets fall into elite pass rusher; Eagles with ‘Major Haul’ in the final mock of Round 1

The 2022 NFL Draft is all about three teams: the New York Giants, the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both the Giants and Jets have two top 10 picks, while the Eagles will have three of the top 19 picks.

Here’s what CBS Sports predicted in its latest first round mock.

nozzles

The Jets have two first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Jamal Adams trade.

4. Ahmed GardnerCB, Cincinnati

I trust NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein for draft comps and he knocked out Richard Sherman for sauce.

10. (from SEA) Kayvon ThibodeauxRand, Oregon

The Jets are going for the best player available here on a team that could use a lot of defensive help.

Giants

The Giants have two first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Chicago Bears as part of the deal that sent Justin Fields to the Windy City and Kadarius Toney to the Big Apple.

5. Ikem EkwonuOL, NC condition

A top-class lineman with versatility.

7. (from CHI) Kyle HamiltonS, Notre Dame

Hamilton gives them a rare talent at the position, albeit with a potentially hefty rookie contract for a security.

Eagle

The Eagles sit on three first-round picks: their own, plus one from the Miami Dolphins in DeVonta Smith’s trade and one from the Indianapolis Colts in Carson Wentz’s trade.

15. (by MIA) Nakobe DeanLB, Georgia

Dean isn’t Roquan Smith, but he’s a three-down linebacker with a lot of power in his blitz game.

16. (from IND) Tyler LinderbaumOL, Iowa

Jason Kelce just hung up, so center isn’t “necessary” for the Eagles. But imagine you were to teach Linderbaum at Kelce for a year.

19 Jamesson WilliamsWR, Alabama

This would be a huge talent transport for the Eagles.
