The Kansas City Chiefs face the Cincinnati Bengals in Sunday’s NFL American Conference Finals, and if the past is any guide to the future, quarterback Joe Burrow’s gang at Arrowhead Stadium will be in trouble again.

Last year, the two teams met at the same time and the Bengals surprised their hosts by closing an 18-point deficit and winning 27-24 in overtime. In addition, Burrow won his three career duels against Patrick Mahomes, including that of December 4, a win also scored 27-24.
The visiting pivot will therefore come to Missouri with renewed confidence, especially since his team defeated the dangerous Buffalo Bills on home soil in the last game. “We’ve been through this before, we have the experience. We know what kind of club we’re going to face. They’re the team to beat and that’s what we’re here for,” he told the daily Cincinnati Enquirer.
“I think our offensive line is better, our defense, our ground play and our special teams too. Overall I think we’re a much better group than last year, he agreed. We rely on the best coaching group in the league. One does the adjustments better than the other. They did an incredible job finding the right path to attack.”

The Bengalis’ performance should obviously make the troops proud and comfortable. They have won 10 times in a row and haven’t lost since October 31st. However, the opponent is doing well, despite the ankle sprain Mahomes suffered last weekend. The Chiefs have suffered just one loss in their last 12 games. Nothing is gained for Burrow, who still believes he has the tools to send his people to the Super Bowl again.
“I’m feeling really good. I think the last campaign helped a lot of guys figure out how to take care of their bodies over long stretches in the playoffs. It’s part of the experience you have to have to play this type of match to win. It’s not just about being on the ground and being present in a hostile environment. You play long seasons and you have to understand how you could have been better with different actions last year. These guys have evolved and have our cause hearts,” he explained, referring to his teammates here.
