NFL Running backs drop like flies

NFL: Running backs drop like flies

The second week of activity hasn’t been easy for some running backs in the NFL and will leave fantasy football fans with some headaches.

On Sunday, Saquon Barkley (New York Giants) and David Montgomery (Detroit Lions) fell in combat.

The former suffered a sprained ankle in the 31-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals. According to the ESPN network, Barkley is not expected to play on the football field for three weeks.

Before his injury, the star player had been outstanding. He rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown and had a major on a catch.

In Montgomery’s case, he injured his hamstring in a 37-31 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Lions representative left the game in a cart early in the fourth quarter. He is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

Owners of these two players in their NFL pool will need to find a replacement option quickly. Some of them may turn to Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams. The latter collected 104 yards and three touchdowns with his legs in two games. He also has 50 yards and a major through the air. It is currently available in 38% of leagues on the Yahoo! platform.
