NFL: The Bengals lose Joe Burrow and the game

In their 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, the sky fell on the Cincinnati Bengals when their star quarterback Joe Burrow walked toward the locker room during the game.

Burrow injured his right wrist during the touchdown pass he delivered to Joe Mixon in the second quarter. As soon as the ball went into the air, the quarterback responded immediately by holding his hand.

The 26-year-old tried to get back into the game with some hand exercises on the sidelines, but quickly realized that it was not possible for him to continue.

Everything fell apart on the field for the Bengals at that moment. As soon as Jake Browning came on for Burrow, the Ravens took matters into their own hands. Burrow’s counterpart, Lamar Jackson, served teammates Nelson Agholor and Rashod Bateman for two touchdowns in less than two minutes at the very end of the second period.

When kicker Justin Tucker returned from the locker room, he made two more field goals for Baltimore. Gus Edwards then finally ended any hope of a Bengals comeback by reaching the score zone with a three-yard run.

The Ohio team scored one final touchdown at the very end of the game thanks to Ja’Marr Chase.

The Ravens (8-3) will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers next week. The Bengals (5-5) host the Pittsburgh Steelers on the same day.
