The NFL regular season hasn’t even started yet, but a catch-of-the-year candidate has already been lined up. The Houston Texans’ Nathaniel “Tank” Dell outdid himself Thursday night.
During a preseason game that the Texans won 20-9 against the New England Patriots, the third-round pick in the last draft had a lot to offer in the second quarter.

At the goal gate, quarterback Davis Mills fired a pass at Dell, who had positioned himself near the pay-zone line. The receiver dived for the ball, but missed the object. Before he hit the ground, the 23-year-old was able to pinch him between his knee and his right hand and finally secure him.
That touchdown allowed the Texans to take the lead and not look back after that.
Dell will be trying to secure his spot in the NFL after five seasons in the NCAA at three different varsities. He celebrated his greatest success with the Houston Cougars and was named to the AAC Division Team of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
