On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns begin life without Deshaun Watson, CJ Stroud looks to build on his emerging MVP campaign and Zach Wilson’s Jets look to win the season with the Buffalo Bills. Then there’s a Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.

If Stroud were somehow able to win MVP this year, it would be historic. You can count on one hand the number of times a rookie has won the MVP. In fact, you can count them on one finger. Jim Brown is the only rookie to win the award. He did it in 1957 and since then only one freshman has even finished in the top 3 polls in the last 35 years (Randy Moss in 1998).
“Stroud does things that rookies almost never do. Not only does he put up big numbers, but he also doesn’t make many mistakes. With 2,626 passing yards and just two interceptions, Stroud has by far the fourth-most passing yards in NFL history as a QB with two or fewer interceptions in 9 games (And we’re not just talking about rookies here, we’re talking about every NFL QB of all time) .
“The Texans’ rookie QB was also quick. Not only has he led two game-winning drives in the last two weeks, but he’s also thrown for 306 yards and three touchdowns on the season with no fourth-quarter interceptions.” Houston’s one-score games this year.

Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers

“This line is exaggerated by Dallas’ destruction of Tommy DeVito. Carolina’s offense is bad, but not as bad as the offense we saw last week. The defense is actually playing well, allowing four touchdowns in the last three games. Dallas averaged 17 points in their last four on the road. If they are focused they can win in a slam dunk, but again a sleepy place. Away game against that terrible Arizona team, it was the same situation, they didn’t have to take it seriously and they lost that game by double digits. Then point out that double-digit home teams are 29-1 against the spread in their last 30 games, and that seven-plus away favorites are 0-7-2 against the spread this year. It’s just not a great place for the Cowboys.”

Los Angeles Chargers at Green Bay Packers

“The Chargers’ defense performed as expected against a good offense last week, and while this week’s matchup should be much easier, the Packers averaged 6.1 yards per play in Pittsburgh, with Jordan Love hitting multiple passes for 30 yards. Then he gave the game away with two interceptions at the end, but overall it was a solid step forward. The Packers’ secondary was beaten for this game, and if they have better health here, it will make defending the Chargers’ one-WR offense easier. I believe the market is still grossly overvaluing the Chargers, and when you factor in the Packers’ major league home field advantage, that line should be well south of 3.”
Las Vegas Raiders at Miami Dolphins

“I’ll try not to think about it too much. The Dolphins are 4-0 SU ATS at home this season, AND 3-0 ATS as a double-digit favorite under Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins are also coming off their bye week while the Raiders are on the road. Miami is 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following the bye week.
“If you take away the Dolphins’ absurd 50-point win over the Denver Broncos earlier this year, Miami still wins its home games by an average of 16.6 points.”

New York Giants at Washington Commanders

“Enough people probably still have the Commanders in their pool of available options that I expect them to be the best play in any Survivor format this week, especially after the Giants’ offense showed predictably zero life against the Cowboys. My concern is that the Washington defense is the furthest thing from the Dallas defense, and there’s certainly a world where they give up 20+ points to that Giants team and a healthier New York defense helps with that to ensure the surprise. It’s also possible that Tommy DeVito will be benched for Matt Barkley During practice week or in the game, Saquon Barkley may rush for 200 yards, but anything is possible with this poor defensive unit.
“The advantage of using the Commanders now, when you have them, is that there won’t be another few weeks where it’s a good idea to continue. They’re at the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, then they host the Dolphins before a bye in Week 13. After that.” By the way, they have road games against the Rams and Jets before finishing the season with the 49ers and Cowboys. But if you forgo that, it’s possible the Cowboys will rest players for the Week 18 game when the division is eliminated, so the Commanders could look sneakily good in this matchup. It’s hard to predict this far, but at least this gives you a reason to save her.”

Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns

“That line will fall further if Deshaun Watson is out for the season. I liked Pittsburgh on the money line even when he was playing. I was hoping that Watson would be released and the value for Pittsburgh would continue to rise. That was a bad matchup even for… “A banged up Watson and PJ Walker (actually Dorian Thompson-Robinson) won’t stand a chance against this defense. It will be a 40-run race, and if the Steelers can build a two-score lead, they can count on another defensive score against Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin is the owner of the Browns. The Steelers were great on the road from the start (five wins in a row) and beat the Browns in their first meeting of the season. This could be closer to a pick ’em this weekend. The Pittsburgh defense is too much for the Cleveland offense. The Steelers have found a good game with Jaylen Warren at the helm. The Browns have the worst QB production in the NFL and are without their best two or three tackles against TJ Watt and the elite pass rush. The Steelers are on a 4-0 run against the AFC North, and a Browns team that ranks 30th in yards per game and 27th on third downs will sputter badly here. The Browns have not won three straight since the start of the 2021 season. The Browns’ QBs have been sacked 13 times in their last two games against the Steelers. Don’t be fooled by what they did in Baltimore. The injuries will be a major factor on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

“Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars were downright bad in Week 10. The offense couldn’t move the ball against San Francisco and Lawrence lost three turnovers. Still, this is a good chance for Jacksonville to bounce back. The Titans also suffered a… They suffered a blowout loss in Week 10, but I think they’re more like that with a rookie quarterback under center in Will Levis than they are a team that just laid an egg has. In his last two starts, Levis is 0-2 and has thrown for zero touchdowns. He has two interceptions and is completing just 52.6% of his passes. The Jaguars’ defense – which has played well most of this season – should be able to contain Levis fairly easily. Meanwhile, Lawrence has been dominating AFC South opponents of late. He is 5-1 against his division rivals and his teams have averaged 28.7 points in those games. If Jacksonville can smell that point total, I can’t see how Tennessee will face them there. The Titans have also failed to cover the points in five consecutive games at Nissan Stadium.”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the San Francisco 49ers

“New York had a players-only meeting this week to express frustration internally, while the Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey after a dismal performance against Denver. Which squad will come together and which will continue to fall apart?”
“The Bills offense has turnover issues and Josh Allen needs to get Stefon Diggs the ball more often, but Buffalo is still in the top eight in the league in scoring. The Jets’ offense, on the other hand, ranks in the bottom three and therefore has problems that are more serious. The Jets have gone 11 quarters, 36 offensive drives and 186 plays from scrimmage without scoring a touchdown. Yikes.
“The 5-5 Bills are 4-1 in Buffalo this season and are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last four games after two straight losses. That’s not a small number, but I don’t know, “I have no confidence in the Jets.”

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams

Aaron Donald is still Aaron Donald and he will cause problems for Geno Smith. Stafford and McVay know this game is crucial to keeping their playoff hopes alive. At 6-3, the Seahawks appear locked in for a playoff spot. The Rams are counted 3-6. But the Rams still have 4-5 very winnable games on their schedule. If they can do it after a small upset at home in Week 11, the postseason will be on the line again.”
