NHL A Beer League Game – Bruce Cassidy

NHL: “A Beer League Game” – Bruce Cassidy

Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy really wasn't impressed with his team's performance on Monday night.

After a 6-5 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils, the pilot provided a tasty comparison.

“We basically played a beer league game,” he said at a news conference. It looked like it was a preparation meeting.”

The “Golden Knights” came back into the game after a 1:3 deficit and even took a 5:3 lead at one point.

“We didn’t defend based on our structure or our principles,” Cassidy said. The moves we made leading up to the final goal were reckless and disrespectful to the sport. In the end we lost and that’s what we deserve if we play like that.”

The head coach was also upset about the use of his defenders.

“We have a group of experienced defenders and they weren’t good as a unit tonight [lundi]. In New Jersey, if you’re not good at that side of the game, you pay the price.”

“It just wasn’t acceptable,” Cassidy added.

Let's see if the Golden Knights players can bounce back on Tuesday against Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m. This matchup will be broadcast on TVA Sports.
