Some National Hockey League (NHL) teams are looking to bolster their defensive rosters as the regular season gets into full swing. Available options include Ethan Bear, who could soon play for the association from the East.

The 26-year-old skater underwent shoulder surgery after last season and is an unrestricted free agent, but perhaps not for very long. In fact, he's piquing the appetites of several organizations, and according to Sportsnet broadcaster hockey expert Elliotte Friedman, the Washington Capitals are at the forefront of the race for Bear's services, who is expected to reveal his intentions soon.
