The four coaches who will take part in the All-Star Game on February 3 in Toronto were announced by the National Hockey League (NHL) on Sunday.
In a press release, the NHL stated that the coach of the team with the highest points percentage in each section after Saturday's games (i.e., halfway through the season) was selected to participate in the event.

So the two Western Association instructors are Rick Bowness (Winnipeg Jets – .714) and Rick Tocchet (Vancouver Canucks – .709). Jim Montgomery (Boston Bruins – .702) and Peter Laviolette (New York Rangers – .659) will also travel to the Queen City.
While Bowness will be making his first All-Star weekend, Laviolette will have made four appearances. Montgomery, like Tocchet, will be playing in his second All-Star Game.
