The Vancouver Canucks placed forward Jack Studnicka on waivers Monday afternoon.
The 24-year-old Ontario native was acquired from the Boston Bruins in October 2022 in exchange for goaltender Michael DiPietro and defenseman Jonathan Myrenberg and is struggling to find his place in the National League. In 90 career games, he has only six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.
However, Studnicka was successful during his time in the American League, notably collecting 49 points in 60 games with the Providence Bruins in 2019–2020.

This season he only scored one goal in five duels with the Canucks and was not used several times. His two-season contract, which he signed with the Bruins just months before the deal, expires this summer.
Studnicka was selected in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2017 draft.
