NHL: Brière is careful with Hart

Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere had few words to say when asked Wednesday about the temporary absence of goaltender Carter Hart, who was sidelined for personal reasons.

At the beginning of his press conference the day after the porter's departure was announced, the Quebecer also read a few lines on a piece of paper to journalists. I am aware of the existence of a text published by The Globe and Mail on the same day which stated that five players from the 2018 Canadian junior team must report to the London police to face charges over their alleged involvement in a gang rape to become. Brière issued a brief official statement from the Flyers.

“We are aware of the information published in the press this morning about a very serious matter and will respond appropriately as soon as the conclusions of the investigation are published,” Brière said. The National Hockey League has been very clear to its teams on this issue: all questions related to the process must be referred to them. Additionally, members of the organization, including Flyers players, will not provide detailed comments. Unfortunately, that’s all we have to say at the moment.”

However, one of the representatives of the journalistic fauna tried his luck by asking the CEO about the exact reasons for the absence of Hart, a 2018 ECJ player.

“I don't know. I can't really say because we don't know anything. There's a lot of speculation. […] All I can say is that Samuel Ersson is playing extremely well and deserves more ice time. He enabled us to win big games,” Brière replied.

In the 2023-24 season, Hart maintained a record of 12-9-3, a goals-against average of 2.80 and a save percentage of .906.
