Barroway was arrested at a hotel in Pitkin County, Colorado, according to the Aspen Daily News.

The 57-year-old hedge fund manager spent the night behind bars. He reportedly posted bail of $2,500 after a hearing via video conference.

By court order, he is no longer allowed to contact his wife for reasons unrelated to their children. He was also banned from drinking alcohol.

Barroway was the majority owner of the desert team until 2019. He became a minority shareholder when he sold the majority of his shares to Alex Merulo.

The National Hockey League was quick to respond to the allegations against the man who now owns 5% of Coyotes stock.

“The National Hockey League is aware of the arrest of Coyotes minority owner Andrew Barroway. Pending further details, he has been suspended until further notice,” Bettman Circuit wrote in a statement.
