Goalie Jonathan Bernier’s retirement, confirmed on Monday, prompted former hockey player John Scott to congratulate the Quebecer on his 14-year National League career, not without bringing one of his good shots to the surface on the ice.
So the man who was better known for his fighting talent wrote a sentence on Tuesday to compliment Bernier … and supplemented the short message with a video sequence showing how he scored a goal at his expense.

And the game in question isn’t particularly flattering to the masked man who looked bad. In a game on December 27, 2013, Scott used the 200th game of his career to capitalize on a juicy counter-throw by his opponent, the Toronto Maple Leafs, to score his first goal since November 2009. His Sabers from Buffalo won 4-3 in the shootout.
Struggling with recurring hip pain, Bernier played his last game at the circuit on December 3, 2021.
