It was the Pittsburgh Penguins support players who helped their team secure a 3-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday night at PPG Paints Arena.
Early in the first period, defenseman Ryan Graves took advantage of a messy moment in front of the Golden Knights’ cage to put the puck into the net while goalie Aden Hill had been shifted completely to the right.

Noel Acciari then doubled his team’s lead in the second period with an assist from Matt Nieto. This goal was also his first with the Penguins.
Evgeni Malkin then sounded the final blow by making the red light twinkle in an empty net. Defenseman Kristopher Letang scored his 701st career point with this goal.
Pittsburgh goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic had an outstanding performance, stopping all 38 pucks aimed at him. This shutout is his first since April 24, 2022 against the New Jersey Devils. He was playing for the Detroit Red Wings at the time.
This defeat is the third in four games for the Golden Knights. They only beat the Montreal Canadiens in that sequence by a score of 6 to 5.
Mike Sullivan’s men receive a visit from the New York Rangers on Wednesday. The Las Vegas team will end its five-game road trip against the Dallas Stars on the same day.
