The Ottawa Senators hired former NHL player Steve Staios as president of hockey operations on Friday.
It was the team’s new owner, Michael Andlauer, who made this adjustment.
“I am very pleased that Steve is joining me in Ottawa to lead our hockey operations,” Andlauer said in a press release. I have worked with Steve for several years and know he will strengthen our team with his hockey knowledge, attention to detail, commitment to excellence and passion for the game and players.”
Staios previously served in the Edmonton Oilers organization as a special advisor to the hockey operations department.
As a player, Staios played 1,001 games in the NHL and collected 220 points with the Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins, Atlanta Thrashers, Oilers, Calgary Flames and New York Islanders.
