Forward Tyler Ennis is reportedly close to agreeing to a professional tryout contract with a National Hockey League team.
The former first-round pick, 26th overall in the 2008 draft, spent the season last year in Switzerland with the Bernese team, with whom he scored 33 points in 37 games.
It could even be that Ennis, a native of Edmonton, could complete a second stint with the Oilers.
As a matter of fact, Edmonton Journal reporter Jim Mathesonindicated that Ennis could get the call from a team in the Western Association.
Ennis has not played in the NHL since the 2021-2022 season, in which he wore the Ottawa Senators colors. He scored 24 points in 57 duels.
The forward played exactly 700 games during his NHL career.
