After turning heads in the offseason, Torey Krug will play his first preseason game on Monday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blues announced on September 13 that Krug suffered a right foot injury during practice and had returned to full practice a week ago, according to NHL.com. However, he will form a duo with Justin Falk.

“It may be a little earlier than expected, but it’s nice to play a few games to get comfortable from the first game of the regular season,” Krug said. There’s no substitute for a game, so it’s good to be able to play.”
“He’ll be back tonight, so that’s positive,” Blues head coach Craig Berube said. He wanted to get back in the game. We still have three friendlies to go and we’ll see how he does here.
“I have decided to stay here,” he told The Athletic. I want to be part of this locker room and I love playing for this city and wearing the blue note [le logo des Blues].”
Over the summer, Krug refused to waive his no-trade clause, abandoning a trade that would have sent him to the Philadelphia Flyers. He collected seven goals and 32 points in 63 games for St. Louis last season and was left out of the playoffs. The club will play its first meeting of the campaign on October 12 against the Stars in Dallas.
