NHL: the Coyotes of…Kansas City?

Everyone is talking about the future of the Arizona Coyotes this Wednesday, including that of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Although the National Hockey League (NHL) and the “Yotes” claim the club will be back in the same spot next year, the possibility of a move is being raised across North America.

“Kansas City Coyotes sounds great! What do you think?” Mahomes wrote on Twitter, tagging the NHL and T-Mobile Center accounts.

The latter is an omnisport amphitheater in Kansas City that can seat up to 18,000 spectators.

Recall that a plan to develop a new district that would include a new arena for the Coyotes was rejected by the Tempe community Tuesday night.

Additionally, the NHL once had an organization that played in Kansas City. These were the Scouts that existed from 1974 to 1976. The club then moved to Denver and became the Rockies, which eventually became the New Jersey Devils.
