In front of more than 70,000 spectators, the New Jersey Devils won 6-3 against the Philadelphia Flyers at MetLife Stadium on Saturday.
Although the Flyers were dominant in shots on goal, they were often frustrated by the performance of goaltender Nico Daws, who made 43 saves.

Lindy Ruff's men got off to a great start. In fact, captain Nico Hischier, who was started by Ondrej Palat in a breakaway group, opened the scoring after 32 minutes of play. The team from New Jersey wasn't satisfied with that and led 4-2 after 40 minutes of play.
Former Montreal Canadiens Tyler Toffoli gave his team a 2-0 lead in the first period. Brendan Smith and Nathan Bastian then extended the Devils' lead. Hischier and Bastian each added another success to their tally in their last engagement.
Owen Tippett, twice, and Nick Seeler gave the Flyers the red light.
With this lead, the Devils move within two points of second place among drafted teams in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers remain in third place in the Metropolitan Section.
