The nephew of former hockey player Todd Bertuzzi suffered injuries to both hands limited to nine games this season. A broken right hand sidelined him for a month early in the season, while an injury to his left hand – the result of a shot by teammate Ben Chiarot that struck him on November 30 – left him out for 16 games.

“It was frustrating for him just because he died in battle. He got injured after four periods, then came back and played a few games. Trying to pick up the pace, he stumbled again, but it was all behind him. He’s looked like he’s in great shape the last few practices and hopefully that will show in the next game,” head coach Derek Lalonde told NHL.com.

Tyler Bertuzzi had one goal and three assists in 2022/23.
