The backlash against Beyonce began after the 42-year-old superstar appeared to have lighter skin and also wore a platinum blonde wig in a photo taken of her performance at the Renaissance concert film premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Shortly after the performance, online trolls claimed the hitmaker was “white now,” while others complained that “she’s not a black woman!”

Nick wasn’t the only celebrity to speak out in support of the Grammy winner, as her mother Tina Knowles stepped into the ring to defend herself against her daughter’s vicious critics.

“I’m tired of people attacking her,” Knowles wrote in a lengthy caption to the video, in which she dismissed commenters’ concerns.

She also compared her daughter’s outfit to styles worn by black entertainers going back at least as far as Etta James.

“I came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all the stupid ignorant self hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin and wearing platinum blonde hair wanting to be white,” Knowles began hers long caption.

She explained that Beyoncé’s look was purely for her Renaissance documentary, “where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and implied silver clothing, and you idiots jump to the conclusion that she’s trying to be a white woman.” and her skin bleaches?”

She accused her daughter’s critics of fomenting “jealousy and racism, sexism, double standards” instead of “celebrating a sister or simply ignoring her if you don’t like her.”

Among those supporting Knowles in the comments was Insecure star Issa Rae, who cheered, “Go!”

Leave it out so people can remember that you and your daughters are REAL PEOPLE who have done nothing to deserve the nasty things miserable idiots write! I’m sick!’
