Shannon Ruth has sued Nick Carter for rape
A source close to Nick told TMZ: “This claim is categorically false, Nick is focused on his family and mourning the loss of his brother.”
Nick has faced rape allegations in the past but has never been charged with a crime.
The Backstreet Boys singer was accused of rape by singer Melissa Schuman in 2013.
In 2018, Schuman claimed Carter raped her and filed a report on the incident with the Los Angeles Police Department. The singer said in a post Nick forced her into the bathroom and forced her to perform oral sex and then forced her to perform fellatio on him.
And she said that Carter then took her into a bedroom and forced her to have sex.
Carter claimed the sex was consensual: “I am shocked and saddened by the allegations made by Ms Schuman. Melissa never told me while we were together or at any other time that anything we did was not consensual.”
“We recorded a song and performed together, and I’ve always respected and supported Melissa both personally and professionally,” he added in his statement.
After all, the singer was not formally accused of sexual abuse.
Carter’s attorney, Michael Holtz, stated at the time: “Nick Carter was rehabilitated when the Los Angeles County Attorney’s Office dismissed the charges against him. Nick has denied these allegations since learning about them last year and was confident that the district attorney would conclude that there was no basis to press charges against him.
“He’s happy to put this matter behind him,” the attorney concluded.
