According to the outlet, the baby’s full name is Malti Marie Chopra Jones, and she was born at 8 p.m. on Jan. 15 at a hospital in San Diego, California. Why the couple decided on the name isn’t clear yet, although “malti” generally means “small fragrant flower” or “moonshine” in Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language.
Priyanka notably posted on her Instagram after the birth, writing, “We are delighted to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy at this special time as we focus on our family. Thanks very much.”
The couple has definitely enjoyed their time as parents and have been keeping things pretty low-key lately. However, they posted an adorable Easter picture over the weekend of April 17th.
