In an interview with the Fresh Air podcast in January, Nicole spoke briefly about her mother’s health issues.

She said they managed to make an after-hours visit to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, where they saw the Matisse: Life & Spirit exhibition, describing it as a “soothing balm.”

“We’re down here mainly to take care of my mom and let her be surrounded by her grandkids,” she said.

“Although Omicron rampages through this country, luckily we were able to take her to the gallery after hours yesterday and show her the Matisse exhibition, which comes from a mother who raised me in the arts, it was comforting balm. Matisse was soothing balm last night.’
