While the start of the year is never particularly crazy when it comes to game releases, the new Prince of Persia won't be forgotten by Nintendo Switch owners come January 2024. There will even be the return of two major licenses, which we are happy about in updated compilations. An objection?
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
The Prince of Persia franchise reinvents itself with the release of a brand new episode in 2.5D. Our preview of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown bodes well for a highly effective Metroidvania which risks reworking everything to go back to the basics of the series. Expected for Switch and other machines on January 18th, this title chronicles the heroic and acrobatic journey of Sargon against the backdrop of Persian mythology. This time the player develops within a huge non-linear network in which all areas are connected.
This episode's universe promises to be full of hidden treasures, but also full of insidious traps to avoid, just as the license intended at the beginning. The whole core of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's gameplay should lie in its manipulation capabilities This is how you can control space-time. Fans of the Metroid and Castlevania saga will likely really appreciate this new direction in the game, while perhaps waiting for news on the Sands of Time remake.
