The clothing ban caused an uproar in the French city of Saint-Omer. On Wednesday, a girl was forced to change her clothes in order to take the Abitur exam, according to the newspaper “la voix du nord”. The reason for this was the clothing worn by the student named Noémie, which was perceived as indecent.

In canton Basel-Landschaft, on the other hand, the education department reacted to overly strict dress codes and banned overly strict guidelines in schools.
