Andrei Kuzmenko is about to begin his second season with the Vancouver Canucks and has decided to change one thing in particular: his diet.
In comments to the Sportsnet network, the 27-year-old striker admitted to giving in to a big desire last year. His physical condition was so poor that he had to complete a special program on the bike or in the gym during the season in order to keep up.

“Last season was very bad for me, my weight,” Kuzmenko said. Now I’m losing weight. Last summer I did [mangé] lots of waffles.”
To these famous waffles, Kuzmenko added Nutella, raspberries and bananas. However, that kind of gap seems to be finally behind him.

As a reminder, Kuzmenko signed a two-season contract with the Vancouver team on January 26th. During his first season in the National Hockey League (NHL), the winger scored 39 goals and 35 assists for 74 points in 81 games.
Turns out his poor diet wasn’t slowing him down.
