No more CH season tickets for a frustrated fan

Martin Massé’s family has owned season tickets for the Montreal Canadiens since 1992.

His grandfather had his tickets, so did his father, then in 2006 Martin became the owner of his own couple with the Grays. A true tradition for these great followers of the Habs.

Everything changed on June 12th. For the first time in 12 years, the 47-year-old dad didn’t renew his $5,200 Section 322, Series A season tickets.

Martin, who I was able to meet at his home in Bromont during the playoffs as part of the Destination Coupe Stanley program, allowed me to share with you the small email he sent to the Canadiens’ account manager to explain his motivations, or rather … his demotivation.

It has the advantage of being clear.

Hello Mr. La******,

There are several reasons that have caused me to leave my seats.

1. 20% increase at once in 2015.

2. Subbans Trade in 2016 didn’t help either… The only electrifying and spectacular player! I’m paying for a show and before the move he wasn’t even allowed to do his low five with Price!!! Tsé if the organization is dreary! At over $5,000 a year, I’d rather spend my money on a show and a good game somewhere other than the Bell Center! It’s in the Canadian’s DNA to have great class, but you don’t win a championship with milk drinkers.

3. In 2017 I am being charged $300 to get my paper tickets!!! This one, I found it cheap in yours!

4. I’m just sick of the damn “torch”. Let’s stop living in the 60’s or 70’s, it’s 2018! Can we continue?

Good luck

Martin Mass

No, dear Martin never got an answer from the Canadian.

But that doesn’t make him an unhappy man. Martin soon turned his attention to another team: the New England Patriots.

Yes, let’s say he planned it. He’s also been a season ticket holder for the Pats for seven years!

Two exhibition games, eight regular season games in section 316 for $2,150 per pair.

Such a huge fan of Martin that he even got his tickets to the finals at the American on January 20th, 2019!

For Martin, the Canadian is over.

He’s found his new toy… even if he has to travel 335 miles from Bell Center to get it.
