No US Open for Tiger Woods

No US Open for Tiger Woods

Unsurprisingly, Tiger Woods decided not to compete in the United States Open.

This was announced by the organizer of the event, the United States Golf Association, on Monday. The prestigious major tournament will be held June 15-18 at the Los Angeles Country Club.

Woods is still recovering from sudden surgery on his right ankle last April. No date has been set for the return to the game at this time.

The 47-year-old is still suffering from the consequences of his car accident in 2021.

The last competition of the “Tiger” goes back to the last Masters tournament in early April. He had to retire on the third lap as he had great difficulty moving around the Augusta course.

It was 2020 when Woods last competed at the US Open and he missed the cut. The former world No. 1 has won this competition three times, in 2000, 2002 and 2008.
