Nolan Patrick could miss next season

Fate continues to plague the Vegas Golden Knights, who could see the name of another of their players on the long-term injured list before the start of the season: Nolan Patrick.

The forward could even miss the entire 2022-2023 season, according to journalist Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Sun. The 23-year-old is said to be struggling with the same upper-body injury that has plagued him since last season.

The former runner-up in 2017 from the Philadelphia Flyers does not know the hoped-for career start with only 77 points in 222 games. He had also been involved in a three-team swap last offseason. In his first season in Nevada, Patrick blacked out the scoring charts just seven times and played in just 25 games.

This continues the miserable summer of the Golden Knights, who had to hand over Evgenii Dadonov to the Montreal Canadiens in return for the contract of Shea Weber, who is also on the long-term injured list, in order to comply with the salary cap. For the same reason, Max Pacioretty and Dylan Coghlan were sent to the Carolina Hurricanes in return for future consideration.

Most recently, they also put goalkeeper Robin Lehner on the long-term injury list. By adding Patrick’s name, they would suddenly find themselves with $6.2 million in perks.
