The Walking Dead action star Norman Reedus shared the story of how he proposed to his baby mom – Cannes Best Actress winner Diane Kruger – after a motorcycle trip to Savannah, GA in August 2021.
The Florida-born, 53-year-old said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday: “Well I’ve had the ring in my pocket for quite a while and just burned a hole in my pocket. Yes. I’m trying to find the right way to do it.’
Norman decided he’d find a “really pretty place” to pop the question on the 236-mile drive back from Savannah to his home in Senoia.

“But there was a huge thunderstorm that hit us,” Reedus explained.
“So I could see the clouds had some sunshine way up. So I shot it down the freeway and tried to hit it. Then we finally got to the house. It was the next morning. I felt bad that I didn’t do it.’
The Ride with Norman Reedus, producer and presenter, sat their then two-year-old daughter Nova Tennessee on his lap so he could ask the German 46-year-old to retrieve his boot with the estimated $500,000 8-carat ring, which was secretly was hidden in it.
“I said, ‘Can you get my boot? It’s in the closet.” She’s like, ‘Why?’ Norman recalled.

The models-turned-actors – who officially went public with their romance in March 2017 – originally met in December 2015 while portraying lovers on the set of their film Sky.
At the time, Diane was still in a decade-long relationship with Dawson’s Creek alum Joshua Jackson.
Reedus will mark Kruger’s (née Heidkrüger) second marriage after divorcing Mon Idol castmate Guillaume Canet in 2006 after five years of marriage.
