Australian way Sayona on Monday announced the resumption of lithium production at the North America Lithium Complex (LAN) near Val-d’Or next March.

The processing plant start-up includes the circulation of ore throughout the system after the start-up activities are complete.
Production of the first marketable lithium concentrate is theoretically scheduled for late March, according to the company, which anticipates first shipment of this ore in July.
With four more deliveries in the first half of 2024, Sanoya is aiming for a total production of 85,000 to 115,000 tons in the same period.
“Just days away from producing marketable lithium concentrate, this is an exciting time for Sayona and Quebec as we work to build the first integrated lithium production center in North America,” said Brett Lynch, Sayona’s managing director and CEO, in a press release .
Last September, Sayona signed a four-year, $200 million deal with L. Fournier & Fils to resume production of lithium, an essential metal for battery production.
