North Korea: Bulk Delivery of Ammunition to Russia

As trade between Russia and North Korea escalates like never before, the United States says it has discovered a massive transfer of North Korean ammunition headed to a Russian military warehouse. A thousand containers of ammunition: That’s what North Korea sent to Russia, according to American intelligence. Using satellite images, the White House claims to be able to trace the route of this important military cargo.

Transport to the Ukrainian border

Although the exact contents of these containers cannot yet be confirmed, they were transported by train to the Tikhoretsk ammunition depot, not far from the Ukrainian border.

This ammunition transfer obviously violates international sanctions against North Korea. The United States has condemned the North Korean regime for supplying Russia with ammunition that will likely be used in Ukraine. They also called for sanctions against Pyongyang to be tightened.

Not the first time

This is not the first time that North Korea has been accused of sending ammunition to Russia. Last year, American intelligence also warned against sales of North Korean ammunition to the Russian Wagner militia.
