North Korea carries out tactical nuclear attack

North Korea conducted a simulated exercise for a “tactical nuclear strike” with two long-range cruise missiles on Saturday, North Korean state media reported on Sunday. The KCNA news agency reported that the exercise took place early Saturday evening and was intended to warn “enemies” that the country was prepared for nuclear war.

The two cruise missiles were equipped with dummy nuclear warheads. They were fired towards the West Sea and flew 1,500 kilometers. Meanwhile, ruler Kim Jong-un visited shipyards and munitions factories.

Pyongyang reiterated its objective of strengthening military deterrence against Washington and Seoul. The agreement signed between the two countries last month to improve military cooperation has drawn criticism from North Korea.
