Cases of respiratory illnesses are on the rise in Pyongyang. People now have to go through a five-day lockdown, media reports.
According to a media report, authorities in the North Korean capital Pyongyang imposed a five-day lockdown. City residents are ordered to stay indoors until Sunday closes and undergo temperature checks several times a day as cases of an unspecified respiratory illness rise, reported the news website NK News, based in Seoul on Wednesday, citing a government statement.
It is not clear whether the curfew is also in place in other areas of the country. The isolated country confirmed the first corona outbreak in May last year and declared in August that it had fought the virus.
