North Korea’s authorities gave assurances this Monday that it is developing nuclear weapons “in self-defence” and has accused the United Nations Security Council “disturbin their internal affairs.
Vice Chairman of the North Korean Central Military Commission, Ri Pyong Chol, has indicated that the country continues its “self-defense measures”, which, according to information from the Yonhap news agency, are “legitimate” to protect Pyongyang from threats from the United States.
Ri is currently known for having promoted the country’s ballistic and nuclear program since the North Korean leader Kim Jong UnHe came to power in late 2011. Now his words come shortly after the authorities executed him a launch with an ICBM “Hwasong 18”, which has solid fuel.
He also took the opportunity to condemn the actions of the United States, which he accused of “threatening” and “provoking”, also using the UN Security Council.
