Kim, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of Russian Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, visited an industrial warehouse at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant, where Su-35 and Su-57 fighter jets are assembled.

In addition, he was able to familiarize himself with digital technologies in aircraft construction at the KnAAZ design office.

“We showed the leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea one of our most important aircraft production facilities. “We see the potential for cooperation both in the field of aircraft construction and in other industries,” said the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade.

“This is especially important to fulfill our countries’ tasks of achieving technological sovereignty,” he added.

The North Korean leader had the opportunity to tour the industrial facilities of the Yakovlev aviation company, where some parts of the fuselage and wing components of the SJ-100 airliner are manufactured.

After his visit to Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Kim is now returning to Vladivostok, where the Defense Ministry will show him the capabilities of the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet.

In addition, Kim Jong-un and Manturov enjoyed an exhibition flight of the Su-35 multi-role combat aircraft at the end of their visit.
