Notre Dame vs. Ohio State score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights in Week 4 – CBS Sports

Two of the biggest brands in college football size each other up in the first quarter as No. 6 Ohio State and No. 9 Notre Dame entered the second frame scoreless in their prime-time showdown. Both teams found some offensive success on their first possessions, but were left without points as defenses bent without breaking. Each quarterback relied heavily on their tight ends. Ohio State’s Cade Stover made a pair of grabs for the first down, but not to be outdone, Notre Dame tight end Mitchell Evans recorded four catches for 38 yards, including a stunning one-handed grab for the first down.

The programs began this streak last season when Ohio State held serve in Marcus Freeman’s 21-10 home win as head coach at Notre Dame. This is the return game where Freeman’s program is established and looking strong after a 4-0 start highlighted by an impressive 45-24 road win over NC State in Week 2. But a Buckeyes team led by an improved defense and superstar receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is highly talented and accustomed to the pressure of those big moments.

CBS Sports will be with you throughout Saturday’s game, bringing you live updates, highlights and analysis as Notre Dame and Ohio State square off in prime time.
