Nova FM’s Kate Ritchie is shocked as an Australian reveals she married her father-in-law in a shocking mix-up at their wedding rehearsal
Radio host Katie Ritchie was shocked Tuesday morning when a caller told her and radio hosts Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and Michael “Wippa” Wipfli that she had accidentally married her father-in-law.
During the trio’s radio show Tuesday morning, listeners shared hilarious stories about how they only had one job but screwed it up terribly.
However, the caller Kim’s story wasn’t as funny as her father-in-law had signed her wedding papers incorrectly, leading to the fatal error.
“So I got married and we needed two witnesses, which was my mother and my father-in-law,” she recalls.
“And then, at our rehearsal, the mother-in-law insisted that her husband come over [as a witness too].’

It was only after the woman’s mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law signed the certificate that she realized something was wrong.
“So we found the certificate and then we took a look and found that I’m actually now married to my husband and my father-in-law.” “They signed on the same line,” Kim explained.
Presenters were shocked when Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald clarified, “So you’re officially married to your father-in-law, according to the paper?”
Kim replied, “Well, on the certificate. Thank goodness I hope they didn’t sign the legal documents, that would be awful.”

While the hosts sympathized with Kim, Michael “Wippa” Wipfli found it hilarious, saying, “That’s great.” [He] I just saw the signature and said, “I’m going to put my name on that.”
Then they all laughed as Kim clarified that she is not legally married to her father-in-law.
However, former Home and Away star Kate wondered why the certificate couldn’t be changed.
She said, ‘Just read it.’ Why didn’t someone put a little cross on it?’
